How to mute and unmute various loops at the same time?

Post by Awco » Tue Dec 16, 2003 12:44 pm

Hi,

There is any way to mute and unmute various tracks at the same time live, to create a break for exemple? Without the sequencer.

thanks

assign computer keyboard keys to the little green speaker button of each track, then you can mute or unmute up to eight tracks (eight fingers) at once. OR (as I prefer to do) assing computer keyboard keys to the crossfade buttons of each track, then you can have a bit more flexiblility in your muting.

...or assign keys to "scenes" in Live. Scenes are to be found at the very right in the session window.

If you choose a scene every clip on that scene will start playing - or the oposite - if they are already playing they will be muted. Clips outside that particular scen will not be affected.

though both other answers are perfectly right there is another posssibility if u for any reason dont like the other ways:
send the loops via aux to a send-track (select "sends only") and mute that.

pan tracks hard left or right and then alternate sticking your fingers in each ear. works like a charm.
