Is this for real? So- this guy is behind 9/11, prior attack to WTC 1993, Bali club bombing, and others- or was he tortured to just agree to "admit" to these major attacks?
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, admitted to those attacks and numerous others during a U.S. military hearing on Saturday, according to an edited transcript of the hearing released by the Pentagon Wednesday.
In a statement from him, read by a U.S. military representative, he said, "I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z."

Why do I smile

if he did say that he did all of those events, then he was tortured beyond belief until he agreed to say what they wanted him to say.

he admitted it in front of no lawyer or police officer or nothing.
just him and the army.
i'm sure the trial will happen not long before the next US elections...

Yeah, I was waiting for this...
Its about as transparent as air.
Either this or they'll dig Osama out of some hole just before the primary.
Haliburton just moved to Dubai, maybe its a terrorist exchange program

did you see that thing on ABC (Australian Broadcasting comission - our version of BBC for you internationals) about the Al Jazeera camera man who has been locked in Guantanemo for 5 years just because his passport got stolen or lost in SUdan a few years earlier and somehow turned up on the pakistani wanted list
that there is why they need fair trials

I wouldn't doubt it. An exerpt from the
slate article on the subject notes:
Mohammed's admission is hardly a surprise. In its final report, the Sept. 11 commission discussed several interrogation reports where Mohammed allegedly took responsibility for the attacks. But this was the first time Mohammed faced any sort of legal proceeding and the first time he was able to make a long statement without interrogators. During the proceedings in Guantanamo, Mohammed said some of his previous statements were made as a result of torture.
.... now it's time to sit back and watch the neocons throw another big self-congradulatory party while the civil war in iraq carries on.

Yeah, this guy was apparently in charge of "foreign operations" for Al Q. Osama ran Al Q. Were you thinking one guy did everything?
