Edirol PCR-300 ???

Post by mikelo » Thu Mar 15, 2007 2:07 am

Hi!

Does anybody used Edirol PCR-300 with Ableton? I know Axiom 25 is very popular, but I just don't like M-Audio stuff. I was considering new Edirol toy. So far I know that it comes with Sonar presets and it's very compatible with it, but nothing about Ableton. I also read that previous models had problems with key mappings for Ableton.
Any suggestions?

dude,

Axiom is pretty sweet with Live. However I don't like the rotary knobs. The drum pads are the cool things to use.

Korg is pretty nice too

I recommend you to find out about Novation Remote SL -series (it has some 24 or something -keyboard). The thing about Novation SL series is their technology called Automapping. It means you will see the selected plugin's parameters on LCD-screen on the controller and you can control Live's mixer too. You don't have to do any manual teaching for it!

I'm using Live with my Remote SL on gigs, when producing and composing and I've never been happier with my gear purchase.

The new Edirol controllers are well done, reliable and bug free- have 500 and so far no problems. easy access to various functions, without digging through sub menus. Cant say that about M audio or Novations.

Thanks!

Well, I was thinking about Novation of course but it cost above 400 euros and Edirol PCR-300 just around 250 which is big diffrence for me. It has automapping as well but no word about Ableton on producent site.

Once again thanks and I think I'll go for it! :)
