poor echoaudio,
trapped in a malicioous driver limbo waiting for 10.4.9 while other brands (not many, though) manage to get their audio cards happily working for their happier customers when they buy them...

See, MOTU are rock solid. You don't see them blaming port voltages of hardware (Firebox) or software revisions (Echo) for poor performance.

ahem

I agree completely (I can only really go as low as 256 samples).

I'll update mine soon and will report back.

what latency have you been running at ?
what system have u been using it with ?

over here i have been able to succesfully play at 128 samples@48khz
(but only if i don´t use izotope spectron or trash, some presets from these don´t seem to go along low latencies very well...)

Macbook 2GHz/1GB (just put 2GB in)/120GB 5400rpm Core 2 Duo. All my files are 16bit/44.1 so I leave at that setting for playback.

As I say 256 samples, I don't recall what it thinks that latency is. I set it up with the test tone in Live and 128 wouldn't play correctly.

I used to think that I needed as low latency as possible but I have enough resposiveness with this latency to not be that bothered (I can cut faders and tweak things and not notice a delay).

Firmware 3.1.1 installed:

That slight glitching when stopping all clips has gone and I can now run 128 samples (6.9 ms latency) no probs at all.

All good so far.
