Midi bug?
Midi bug?
I have configured 6 audio channells in my software MonoTouchLive.
I use midi sended from ableton for indciate when audio track its playing, all work perfect, when you press play button, ableton usually return valude 127 for indicate its playing, and 126 when you click play again on playing track.
I detect only one toruble, when use scene plays, the tracks not return 127 some times and just return value 0 ........
This its a bug?
Why ableton return 0 some times and not 127 or 126 when replaying.
Oh and other times value its 1.......
This its very problematic, because i cant use that midi signal for indicate track its playing on my controller.
Its a midi bug on ableton?

Example monitor data when i click on one single play of any clip:
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
00055439 3 -- B0 01 7E 1 --- CC: Modulation
00055652 3 -- B0 01 7F 1 --- CC: Modulation
And this when i click global play scene for first time:
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
00062D90 3 -- F2 00 00 -- --- Song Position Ptr
00062DB1 3 -- B0 01 7E 1 --- CC: Modulation
00062DB1 3 -- B0 01 7F 1 --- CC: Modulation
You see all its ok............but when click on other scenee play:
TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT
0006D45E 3 -- B0 01 7E 1 --- CC: Modulation
0006D8A5 3 -- B0 01 7F 1 --- CC: Modulation
0006D8A5 3 -- B0 01 00 1 --- CC: Modulation
I have 0.....
I test now with any other midi viertual wire for see if midiyoke its the trouble, but i dont hink that.

You want to try midi vmc api, it's a virtual midi cable which you can name them like "MonoTouch MIDI-In Port 1" etc. Won't help your problem here, but will make your app more pro.

chapelier fou yous use midi monitor and you can see what ableton can do and waht cant : )
Yes ableton 6 send midi info about all play status, only if you have midi learned.
Example if you midi learn slider, the when you move slider, slider send to ouput the midi info about what is the position.
If you midi learn play of track or scene, you recive info of status too : )
Best regards.
If you use windows can use MIDI-OX monitor for test.
Bets regards.
