December Co:LAB Voting

Post by Lo-Fi Massahkah » Mon Dec 25, 2006 3:02 pm

Happy new year! The votes has been cast, and the winner is...

Massahkah

Seems stupid to send the fireworks to myself, so... There might be a bonus to coming winners.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------original message below:

Merry christmas, my friends!

Here are the tunes submitted for the December Co:LAB - Festive Minimal.

Check out the contributions here!

Only four songs this time. Don't know if it's because of the busy holiday season, if the challenge was boring or some other circumstances. In any case - I'm thrilled about the contributions made. And now... It's time to vote! Everyone's invited to drop their vote and a comment on any or all of the songs. The poll will end on new year's eve!

Thanks for taking part...

-Mikael

ps. I'll do a new challenge for January. If the turnout is good, we'll continue on a monthly basis. Otherwise I'm thinking of doing a bi-monthly thing. :D

I really think it's cool that you're doing this, let me say that up front!

I think that possibly this one's rules were too stringent. Raw waveforms only, with no resampling. That's hardcore!

:)

Thank you, Sir. I quite enjoy it!

Yeah... I for one like the hard constraining rules as they force creativity out of me.

Yeah! That's some twisted sounds... Damn those germans! Bommel shows some skills.

I actually like it better with no resampling, though the waveforms in this one do make that challenging. In the Nov. competition my set involved no resampling (though I was using some extreme warp settings with the provided samples) and I think that made it more interesting :-)

Bomp-pet-ti-Bomp!

We need more votes - this is too close. Gotta make clear who gets the pack of ace swedish firecrackers!

And, yeah...

I vote for the Meek Speaker for actually bringing something somewhat cheerful to this holiday season. Happy-go-lucky melodies with quirky beats. Yeah!

cheers Mikael I voted for yours actually (conspiracy theorists note...)

I was definitely in the festive spirit at the time and actually ended up remixing it. It's on my myspace if anyone cares to take a look.

Happy NYE everyone!

Just had to say, Bommel's submissions blew me away two months in a row. Do you have more work one could hear via the web?

(I feel slack for sitting out December but can't wait to take a stab at January.)
