For what it's worth, I use Reason 3.0 with Live 6 in every song I do.
I have Reason's track set to Monitor In, and the Track Delay set to -44.5. This is the setting that works for me, and it will probably differ for you.
To find this number, I ran a redrum patch with a quick, very percussive sound with a quick attack, and recorded that into Live. I then zoomed in on the track and saw exactly how many ms it was being delayed. My magic number happened to be -44.5, yours will probably be different.
Now I use Reason's sequencer for Reason sounds, and everything is perfectly on time.

Yes that's right.davec1 wrote:not sure I got this right: the delay happens when you send midi data from live to reason, but not when you use midi data in reason's sequencer?
The easiest thing to do is use the Reason sequencer to keep everything in time.
The next easiest thing to do is predelay all the incoming Reason audio that is controlled solely by Live's midiclips. A value around -50 to -100mS will work for most people. It doesn't have to be precise - all it needs is to be bigger than the PDC value.
The problem with this method is that you if you are using Reason's step sequencer to control any of the synths or effects, or any inbuilt LFOs in the Reason rack, then these will be out of step with the Live controlled midi information.
another shameless bump
Any idea on when this may be fixed. I use Live's sequencer alone. I don't use any midi data in Reason. Does this still affect me?
From my understanding, I will only hear this if I have some of Live's own instruments or vst's playing. Otherwise there is still a delay, but I won't hear it if all of the audio is coming from Reason alone, right?

Hi xxxmophicxxx, I have tried your method it unfortunately doesn't work for me. I'm still off or out of sync irregardless of how much I delay the track or even if I adjust driver error compensation I'm always off sync by the same amount....Just curious what sort of set up are you running?Just to add to my fix listed above, if you do it my way Reason's ReDrum and Matrix sequencers all play in time. I could easily play Live and Reason in a live setting.
Thanks & bump this for the techies to hopefully get this fixed.....
