They are for the creative part of the production process and I would like them to be as transparent as possible, as I sometimes may have to do basic mixing through them. I also want them to cover as wide a frequency range as possible.
Yes, I already have monitors for mixing too.
Thanks in advance.

Seriously. The HD 25s are great. Not cheap but they have a 2 year warranty.
Not to be confused with the inferior HD 25 SP.
They look a bit small, you think they can't be that amazing, but they are. When I DJ with them I can actually hear music in my ears, rather than a mush of sounds.

You should check out Grado Labs - even the cheapest models sound absolutely amazing - and they are very comfy to wear for long periods of time!
Only thing is that they are open - so they spill a lot - and therefore they are not good for microphone recordings....... but maaaaan they sound sweet

Yes, they really are the untouchable in terms of durability, sound quality and design. Every part is user replaceable as wel, which comes in useful after your warrenty has given up. With Sony's, you just have to shell out for a new set (which happens a lot with Sony's). The only problem I've ever heard about them is that some people with big heads think they are too tight, which is fair enough.
The only other cans I'd recommend would be technics, but even these still don't touch the HD25's imho.
Good luck!

Sony make TV's, Technics make turntables, Sennheiser make headphones........HD25's are the industry standard headphones for monitoring, don't waste time and money on anything else!muscleandhate wrote:Yes, they really are the untouchable in terms of durability, sound quality and design.
