DUAL MONITOR SUPPORT (added some GRAPHIC DRAFTS)
although I like this very much, I can see one flaw in having 2 views in 1 Live window;
you have to make sure you have 2 of the same monitors,
with the exact same resolution and the same screen size (inch)..
otherwise its almost undoable to have the middle divider exactly in the middle of the 2 screens and still fill out both screens..

actually your video driver should handle this, I used to use a 19 and a 17. It was perfectly fine having one screen slightly smaller than the main one. I would much rather display all this information, even if it is slightly smaller than not at all.Poster wrote:although I like this very much, I can see one flaw in having 2 views in 1 Live window;

I certainly don't think Ableton should avoid this feature just because some people might have mismatched monitors. Otherwise they should avoid "nice sound" because some people might have bad speakers.
Even a mis-matched setup will be beneficial. We won;t be seeing it in L7 though, that's for sure.

Fully agree.e.maynard wrote:Not a single person will be disappointed if Live 7 included dual monitor support. They could still add it (and ought to) before it's finally released!
This may win over a few last die hards looking for a more DAW ready version of Live.
DO IT!!
Great designs original poster!
I've been keeping an eye on Live 7 (currently using Cubase as my DAW and sick to hell of the problems), and just registered to send this message to abes:
Dual screen support is important enough to me (workflow) that the addition of what has been shown here in this thread would be enough to win me over and I would buy Live 7 outright TOMMORROW.
YOU CAN DO EET!!

yes yes yes!flipper wrote:HI
The thing is this; with proper dual monitor support they could sort out how people 'want' to use Live - the ability to set-up the gui to suit; detach midi edit to second monitor or perhaps spread the session and arrange views.
Goodness knows the gui needs to get better.
