New GUI typography

We all agree that Live's GUI is the best in audio land..
It let's you purely focus on what you are doing,
not distracting you with overpolished, real life textured, rendered knobs and what not..

But one thing that has been a bit of an itch for me since I first layed eyes on Live is the typeface and it's overall useage..
(hard to see in such a small size, but my guess would be Arial)

Issues I'am having;
- overall; too little hierarchical differences..
(normal/bold usage, variation in sizes, lowercase/uppercase)
- hard to read in smaller sizes..
(because of too much aliasing and/or bad bitmaps or just simply too small at all)

I'am not saying that I want a bitmap font as in i.e. Reaktor
because that may be a bit a too technical appearance, though very legible, but not with a very 'human' or friendly touch..

Some thoughts;
a custom designed or other font with;
- besides the vectors, exellent drawed bitmaps in all sizes that are actually used in the GUI..
(i.e. if you have a bitmap for size 10 and 11, you better not use size 10 and a 1/2 in the GUI)
- bigger x-height of lowercase..
(less difference in height between caps and lowercase makes a font more legible in smaller sizes)..

- less smooth aliasing..
(if you have acurate drawed bitmaps you don't need that much of aliasing)
