yeah I like operator alot and did buy it but I think the price is f***ing rediculous when you compare it to other synths out there. like fm7 going for 99 bucks right now. or rob paupen blue going for 99 bucks. or anything from linplug. everything is so cheap these days and operator costs 150? I don't regret my purchase because I like it but I do think I paid too much.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

You can also get the 'dinosaur' upgrade for Zebra2. If you have a qualifying old piece of gear that you are 'replacing' with Zebra2, send in a photo of it, and you can get Zebra2 for $119 right now.

Zebra2 has a vast range of sounds, great sonic quality and GUI, easy to work with. It is a labor of love for 1 developer and I am always happiest to support these people.

Equinoxe Super Deluxe, a user created synth for Reaktor 5, is hands-down my favorite synth right now. It's evocative, lo-fi but very lush when you want it to be.

I firmly believe that any serious electronic artist who primarily uses softsynths and VST effects is a fool if they haven't invested in Live or Reaktor 5.

Yep, Zebra 2 is PC as well from the start, Zebra 1.5 is mac only, but it's a vastly different synth in many ways. A very stable UB of AU is out, it's in about all my songs to date, and Urs is about one of the nicest guys you would want to meet.

ive been getting some nice sounds out of operartor. especially the default setting.for low end bass it does a really nive job.screw it man im keeping it.with zebra though it sounds like it was made for artists like postalservice, boards of canada etc.the pads on it are just crazy.plus once you layer a couple of them together with the new technology in ableton. :D :D :D

While this is true, it is certainly not just a pad machine. The single oscillators are amazing, as are the filters. You can get some really nice basses and leads, comps, etc. out of this. It is quite amazing.

Did I say really nice basses?

Yeah, I think I did.

I am quite happy with my current synth collection but I have to say that Zebra is one synth that I would like to own one day. It has it's own sound and it is a nice one. The price is right and the layout is clear. It is a great synth.

My current fave synth would have to be the Sympohm from ohm force. I almost never hear people talking about it and that is just fine with me. It sounds so freaking good I can hardly belive it. I love it.

My other fave is nothing fancy and it is the polysix and the MS20 from the korg legacy collection. They are dirt cheap and sound fantastic.

I agree, the five soft synths I use the most are Zebra 2, Reactor, Absynth, PPG Wave, and now Symptohm. I haven't even begun to figure out how to program it, but the filters are just insane.
