Hi i have a lap top and a desktop computer and would like to keep all my samples and loops on a hard drive that i can just plug into whichever computer im useing . so will it work or will i have problems ?

I'm assuming both the desktop and laptop are running Windows XP. It'll work just fine.
Just make sure that when you plug in the external drive, to assign it a drive letter like Z: or I: or something way down the line from C: or D: drive. This is so if you ever change the number of devices in your machine, your external drive won't be reassigned another letter.
