Have you ever soldered a pot or fader? Rather, how much electronics experience do you have?
I've built distortion pedals and other simple analog circuits but have not yet dabbled in DIY MIDI.
I'm very curious as well.
that sounds interesting - was it easy? do you have any links to online resources for doing it?

Good work, nuperspective - that is a VERY nice looking piece of kit! How much did it cost in total (incl. faceplate and enclosure and etching to faceplate)?

It's a shame the faders couldn't be mounted from behind. Could the company that built the faceplate not have drilled an tapped the holes to depth on the reverse?

Nice goddamn controller in spite of that, though! Have you thought about painting the engraved words? That would look sweet...

is cost about 500 - 600 pounds [think] all up for a one off which isnt bad.

it would be very difficult to mount the fader from behind as the tapped holes in the faders are on the top. plus im going to have all the screws as chrome capheads to give a more industrial look.

i was going to paint them, but i chickened out in case it look shite. i still might yet.

i just need m-audio or kenton to come in and buy the design off me. :D
