Using Trackballs / Mouse, best options?
When performing live on stage I like to use a trackball as a mouse takes up more surface area. The trouble is, you just cant seem to get good non-wireless trackballs anymore. I use a Logitech wireless but it seems sticky these days and sometimes the batteries run out mid gig, which is no good at all. I've cleaned the inside of the trackball but its still sticky. Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.

I use the black Kensington optical 2 inch trackball & while it took me about a weekend to get used to, it was the thing that really got me off the keyboard and trackpad. It has a vertical/horizontal scroll wheel, 4 programmable buttons, and 2 programmable button combos. My favorite is the hold-click one. Click on any controller, press the hold-click button, then go crazy on the ball. I customized the buttons to help during warping, and I warp tracks twice as fast now. It's not wireless, but I think it's amazing. I've heard that smaller trackballs can give you carpal tunnel, so I stayed away from them.

Tablets are so fresh to play out with, cant wait to get a M400 off Toshiba for a fortnight this weekpolyslax wrote:Yeah, there's nothing like a big bad mofo of a Kensington trackball. Haven't used a mouse for 10 years. Although I have a 6x8 Wacom as well, I haven't warmed up to the tablet in Live concept yet.
