Another 5.2 beta is online! Live 5.2b7!

Post by Alex » Mon Mar 20, 2006 5:33 pm

Hi folks,

we just uploaded another beta version of the upcoming Live update/upgrade 5.2.
This beta is free for every user.

On Windows and OS X (ppc) you can unlock this beta with your
Live 5 serial number.

On OS X (386) or if you do not own Live 5, you can unlock this beta version
using the beta serial number provided on the beta website.

Check the beta website to download the version: www.ableton.com/beta

Please send all beta related feedback to beta@ableton.com.

Current version: Live 5.2b7
Expire date: 2006-03-27

This beta versions has these limitations:
- No manual is included
- No content is included
- No japanese language support is included

This version has enabled our bug reporter.
You will notice it when restarting Live after experiencing a crash.

Furthermore the Windows version has additional debug code to dump
information into the log file. Therefore the Windows version is a bit
slower as the final version (something between 5% to 15%).

When starting live 5.2b7 for the first time it should open with the Beta
lesson which also contains the change log.

Kind Regards,
Alex

logic and rewire

Post by djkepi » Thu Mar 23, 2006 12:31 am

I am still unable to see ableton as a rewire slave.
I am running logic pro 7.2 universal edition on intel (core duo)

beta 5.2b7

I start Logic, then start ableton.
I do not see a rewire bus as an option in the audio object's source.

Anybody else seeing this? Any intel users getting this to work.

rewire track

Post by djkepi » Thu Mar 23, 2006 4:56 am

forgive me if I i am being redundant.

As I understand it, you need to have logic show "rewire" as one of the object (inputs) in the Audio Object property in order to connect to rewire.
If Ableton is not running, how do I record enable a rewire track if there are no rewire objects to select from?

I have done rewire in ableton and several other sequencers for years.

Logic Pro and Ableton on Intel are new to me, so any specific steps to make this happen is greatly appreciated.

is this a trick question?

if there is no rewire object, and ableton isn't running, what were you planning on recording?

rewire clarification

Post by djkepi » Fri Mar 24, 2006 2:44 am

Here is the short version of what I am doing

first I start logic
Then I start ableton

Within logic, I look at the track properties, Audio Object, and it shows no ReWire busses.
