Still no Live 5.2 beta !
Still no Live 5.2 beta !
These are the last days of february and Apple’s Intel-based 15-inch MacBook Pro began shipping last week.

But there's still no sign of a Beta version of Live 5.2.
If they want 5.2 to be available as a downlaod in february, like stated in the news communiqué, they'll have to skip the beta testing at this rate I think/hope not.
«…Thanks to Live 5.2, early MacBook Pro buyers will be able to run Live immediately and enjoy substantially higher audio performance than on today's fastest Mac notebook.»
Immediatly, really ? Any MacBookPro owner running Live 5.2 now ?

Yes, you're right, they didn't.mcconaghy wrote:To be fair, they didn't say anything about a public beta
Since the almost always release public betas, I just assume.
But if you're right, this would mean that they would released a final version of 5.2. which is not only a universal binary but a bug fix. Why do they released all those public betas of earlier versions and following bugfixes ? They don't need public beta testing anymore? This could mean that they know that this 5.2 thing is full proof rock solid then

I'm using a new iMac here and have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of 5.2 beta.
In all fairness, I emailed them before i bought it (which was the end of january) and they said to wait. But, I had money in my pocket and thought - why not? I've moved over from PC (where I've had no problems with Live - compared to many users on the forum) and obviously, as some of you will have read, it's running unbelievably badly under Rosetta.
I've kept my desktop while the software catches up (also waiting for Adobe and macromedia to pull their fingers out) so I'm not paralysed but i can't gig with my desktop. I've got to go to Paris in early March so this is becoming increasingly unnerving!
I emailed them yesterday and I have to say, I was quite blunt - for the same reason that this thread started:
"MacBook Pro buyers will be able to run Live immediately and enjoy substantially higher audio performance than on today's fastest Mac notebook"
How immediate is immediate? Where is it????
They emailed back and said that it will be out shortly (from my experience of Ableton they like to release on Fridays to give people the weekend to play with updates). So I'm hoping this Friday....please! It will also be nice to see if this release sorts a few peoples system problems out at the same time, of course
