I just created a new setup the way I used to work in Logic: several channels of one kind are grouped to dedicated busses (drum-bus, vox-bus, pad-bus) and those (in this example 3) busses are sent to a master-bus. The Audio Outs of the tracks are routed to another track (bus) with the input disabled.
Problem: if I solo a track, I hear nothing unless I also solo the bus (exclusive solo in the prefs disabled). The good way would be, if solo-ing would automatically be activated through the busses (hmm, like in Logic).
I know that I can workaround this by sending the Audio via a send (and Audio out set to sends only), but IMHO sends are not the best practise way to do this, and solo should be solo, no matter if the channel is bussed - just like on a real desk.
Is there a way to get around this without using the sends workaround?
TIA
Ray

I don't know the history of this with live. but the current workflow in this aspect sucks, i agree. solo is solo, I don't care where it's going.

WHat do you do in daily work? Do you chosse both, the bussed track and the bus, or do you use the workaround by send the track via a send to a return object (track in sends nly mode)?
Thanks
