[Tip, exp.] Groover - automating the nudge forward

Post by conny » Sun Jan 08, 2006 12:01 am

Example:

http://bluemoose.greatnow.com/Live/Sets/groover.zip

Info:
A midi track with three midi clips with CC curves for CC 14 goes out to Midi Yoke 14 which is recognized as external midi control.
This is assigned to the "Nudge forward" in the midi clips for three percussion tracks.
So, when setting focus on one of the clips 1-3, the nudge automation will effect just that percussion sound.

(When the controller clip is focused, it will automate itself...)

Observe: Automating clip properties is not bound to track or clip, it's bound to the clip in focus. So, when starting another controller clip, that will get focus, and you will have to focus one of the percussion clips to get an effect.

Be aware:
Arming the track 5 and recording a clip there and while it's running changing focus to another clip takes Live into a hanging state.

Update.

Now using two CC's, one controlling nudge forward, one backward.
Effect in this example will vary depending on global quantization setting. Experiment!
