1. I'll check out the updated Bidule.
2. Yes it's easy to get going, but please read my post. I have Fiddle tracking pitch and sending it to Live, but it outputs either a stream of a gazillion notes or just tiny blips on each attack and I want to make it output full notes based on what is input.

Do'h!
Owell, I will check into Bidule when the Demo is refreshed...
I do think that this would be a good thing for us to get going in PD anyways cause:
- It's free (Although Bidule is not a bad price, it is still too much for many, and their future pricing schemes are unsure)
- PD Works on Mac/Win/Linux, maybe other devices in the future...

theres a non fft bidule based pitch follower in this thread:
http://www.plogue.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... q&start=15
apparently it's based on the korg ms20 pitch to cv method which counts zero crossings to determine frequency. seems to work pretty well too, but i've got an idea to try and improve it, so we'll see...
you could probably set this type of detection up in PD as well. they claim it uses less cpu and tracks faster than fft, but i'm not certain about that yet.

Oh I see, connected a note creator to the IAC...
Once it's connected to midi (not the internal osc), it seems to just output blips (similar to Fiddle.
Looking at the thread, I think that's the issue they're dealing with now.
On the other hand, this file seems to work pretty nicely!

Some tracking errors, even with tweeking, but it may be close enough...

theres ways around that in bidule. i might have time to figure it out tomorrow. basically the note length needs to be gated by amplitude, or possibly a change in the frequency.Kodama wrote:Once it's connected to midi (not the internal osc), it seems to just output blips (similar to Fiddle.
that guitar to midi patch is pretty good though, and probably uses the same method to gate the note length, so you might be able to copy and paste it out of that?
