Doru's contributions have been great. He will be sadly missed as he leaves our earthly plane.

god that is horrible.

and to know when your death is "estimated to be January - February".
i remember when they told me my mother had 1 month left to live (cancer as well), and she was rather healthy at that point in time. Knowing that is good in only the way that you know you must make the most of that time left with your loved ones, but absolutely horrible in knowing the end is near.
She handled it with grace and optimism, i don't know that i would be able to do the same.

i hope his friends and family are making the most of his time remaining.

Doru is an absolute gentleman and a scholar ;).
One truly lovely human being.
A miracle would be lovely wouldn't it :) - I hope he makes it past January / Feb myself.
Cancer is such an insidious disease.
I've lost 2 Aunties in the last 2 years.
My cousin died last year age 45 and she's left behind three beautiful children all under 15  - her husband is holding strong for them all.
My uncle died from a brain tumour three years ago.
I was VERY VERY ILL in the late 90's and had dropped some 30kg's and at that stage was told by a specialist I wouldn't make it much past the year.
That was in 98' and I'm still here.
(Infact some 15 years since diagnosis actually).
I have crap load of health issues but I'm still kicking.
There is also nothing worse than seeing your 4 best mates and a partner all pass away from the same medical condition you have. .
I must still be here for a reason ..... chronci pancreatitis , diabetes and all the rest of it.
However I have a suerb support network and couldn't ask for a better Mother and Father and brother or sisters and have a kick ass handful of very close friends.
I wish him all the best.
It just plain sucks when bad shit happens to nice people.
Such is life I'm afraid.
He seems to have a fairly solid support network , is exceptionally positive in his outlook and is still doing the things that people who are "alive" want to do.
That in itself is a good thing.
I just hope if worst comes to worst it's a peaceful and graceful exit.
However where there is life there is always hope and he has alot of people sending great positive vibes his way.
Oh yeah and thanks for all the great sample libraries Doru.
They seem all the more special now and hold great sentimental value.
Godbless.

sad days

Post by AndrewDuke » Mon Feb 13, 2006 6:48 am

Have heard that
Doru has joined Jay Dilla in producer's
paradise.

Sad days.

My grandfather was diagnosed with
pancreatic cancer and given 3 months
to live and he died almost 3 months
to the day of his diagnosis. That was
almost 30 years ago, but I still remember
with such sadness seeing him lying in that
hospital bed.

My wife's family's next door neighbor
died of cancer; I saw him days before
he passed. He looked 40 years older
than his real age.
Cancer is such a horrible disease.

Andrew

Cold shivers running down my spine
It's been 6 years since my fight with the big C, still clear :D
The ordeal has given me a feeling that being spared and that I'm here to do something causing me to priorotise my life (gave up my 9-5) and focused on my love, music, the silver lining is I'm now not wasting my life doing a job I hate or pursuing useless folly's.Being shown first hand how fragile life is really gives you a kick up the ass, there's no time to wast you see something grab it!

Seems to be pretty much confirmed over at KVR.
His last few forum posts where pretty distressing .
He was in respiratory distress and having great difficulty breathing etc
So sad and I honestly don't think the Prop's user forum thread was a troll post as ALOT of people over there had heaps of time for the chap.
Throat cancer I believe.
He had at one point stated a month or two back that he wouldn't make it much past February 2006 and that the cancer was fairly advanced and inoperable at that stage.

in my travels I found a thread on "trancestation" talking about it, and I tell ya what, it really never ceases to amaze me just what amazing arseholes some people can be. Some guy chose to shit all over the well wishing "doru has cancer" thread by being an absolutely unbelievable prick.

the downside of the internet is there are some people around who think the little bit of annonimity you get from not being face to face gives you the right to be a total turd.

bet he feels pretty bad now

A person as generous and selfless as him will be remembered long past his time spent here with us. I aspire to be as valuable and giving. People like him are a true inspiration.
