MIDI Program change for Live Devices (eg. Impulse,Operator)

Post by dbone » Thu Nov 24, 2005 4:37 pm

Either I'm an idiot for not seeing how or there is a serious drawback with Live Devices (leg. Impulse, Operator). Do they not respond from program changes from a clip?

I can see how it would be a problem with Multi-Devices but on a standard Operator instance you'd think this would be a no-brainer.

Nope, no program changes.

any workarounds??

Post by dbone » Thu Nov 24, 2005 4:46 pm

Kind of makes Operator useless to me as a live performance instrument. The only workarounds I can see are to launch multiple instances... pretty lame.

Anyone doing things differnetly??

If anyone from Ableton is reading this, consider this the beginning for my lobby for this as a feature request! ;)

I don't know enough about programming to say for sure, but I'm thinking this may be a little more difficult to fix than one might think...

I got a great workaround for the impulse. So i can switch kits on the fly.
But i have to admit that i find no solution for the operator / simpler.
Program changes with the slmpler / impulse would be hard to implement i guess.
But for the operator.... It should already be there....
