SERIOUS BUG IN 5.02 FOLLOW ACTION
I just found a serious bug concerning follow action in version 5.02.
follow action duration settings are working only with a minimum of 1 bar.
ie. if i want to launch a clip and stop it after 1/4 this is no longer possible.
this is not happening in version 5.01.
g5 dp1.8, 1.5 gig ram.osx 10.3.9, digi 002

Apparently that this is normal behaviour, I just checked back in the manual and on page 141 (section 11.3 Clip level quantisation), it says "Note that any setting other than 'global' or 'none' will quantise the clip's launch when it is triggered by follow actions."
So basically you have to set your clip quantise value to 'global' and your global quantise to 1 bar and your problem should disappear.

Having the same problem here too........
Me thinks its bugged!!!!
Nothing works under 1 Bar in the "Follow Action Time"
In fact it only works with Bars, and nothin in between!!!!
"1.2.1" in the follow action time now becomes 2 bars
This didnt happen in Live 4 ..... Ive just tried it!
Major Problem

This is what is says in the manual:
"Note that a Follow Action happens EXACTLY after the duration that is specified by the Follow Action Time controls unless clip quantization is set to a value OTHER than "None" or "Global". Follow Actions circumvent global quantization but not clip quantization"
Looks like im back to L4 untill this gets fixed........

The Follow Actions Dilema
-----------------------------
The follow actions in Live 4 where quite buggy.
They did run out of sync under some conditions,
they sometimes fired clips at the wrong quanisation
interval and other unpleasant oddities.
Unfortunately one missbehaviour also found its way in
the manual, probably due to the fact that
the person who wrote this part of the manual
just checked the (odd) behaviour of the software
and described it.
This is how it should be:
Follow Actions trigger clips
after the specified follow time,
or they stop the current clip and do nothing.
Triggering a clip via a follow action is
exactly the same as triggering the clip
manually / per MIDI.
This is the most simple and straight forward
rule and this is what we had in mind when
doing it.
The fact that a clip with a quantisation
set to "Global" behaves like "None" only for
follow actions but not for triggering manually
is not very intuitive and a bug.
This is why we changed it for Live 5.
Unfortunately we also changed something else
accidentialy: The follow action "Stop" now
triggers the global stop button instead just stopping
the clip and this is also quite unintuitive.
This is a 5.02 bug and will be reverted in 5.03
The Live 4 behaviour ( "Global" means
"None" ) can be achived in 503 by setting the global
quantisation to None.
