I've been through this list once and hope this tip isn't here twice:

You can drag and drop a bunch of samples at the same time into a Drum Rack. Killer feature if you are using large libraries of one shot samples!

Not really a "trick", but don't forget it... saves hours!

Edit: This is the wrong thread... intended to post this in the "stuff you figured out...." thread. :?

Quick tip.
Try the "Random" midi device on something in Simpler such as a conga or a vinyl scratch sample. fun!

Holding down the 'Apple' key on a Mac let's you 'arm' multiple MIDI tracks. I didn't find this out until last night, and it's made my life SO much easier...

here's the quickest way i've found of knocking up a your own multisample Sampler, with a sample per key.
as far as i know this method is undocumented...

1. drop all samples into zone editor. all the samples default to the full keyboard span:

2. alt-click each sample's desired root key in the 'span' area to set the 'R' on it. the 'R's should run diagonally (chromatically):

3. right-click > 'distribute zones equally':

4. drag the left side of the lowest sample zone up, and the right side of the highest sample zown down:

may be handy for some of you 8)
