I made a new overlay that includes more functions. Haven't tested them myself yet, so if you find any faults please PM me. Otherwise, have fun!

Thanks for the great tip djsynchro.

I have just dusted off my bcf2000 and followed your directions with great success, but only when using Live 5. It may be my set up, but is anyone else encountering issues with this process on Live 6?

Is this approach for 5 only and should I go the route of selecting bcf2000 as my remote and doing the "dump" for 6?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

No it's the same for 6

They made a couple of improvements, the first encoder is not used to switch a device on/off anymore (waste of an encoder) if it's a Live device (but still for a VST). There's still Mackie classic which is the same implementation as Live 5

you won't necessarily need it for mixer only function

but if you want to get into editing FX parameters - you'll really need a display!

What if i edit on my pc and transfer that to the mac, or am i getting too complex? What i wanted to happen was have the faders set to channels and then with the preset button move them up by a bank of 8 or 1 at a time and i wanted to have a the knobs at the top assiable to pan but to also be easily changed to show say the current volumes etc of a channel. Think this is possible, or am i asking too much ?

I don't know what you're talking about, pc/mac

what you describe is not too much to ask - it's easy

I was just saying that if you want to control all parameters of FX on those tracks with the bcf - that's possible too, but requires the viewing program so you can see what you're doing.

BCF LIVE 6

Post by BAMBEROO » Sat Nov 24, 2007 4:34 pm

Just got the bcf200 after reading about its capabilities with live. Got the firmware installed etc but having a few problems, can anyone enlighten me;
firstly when I set mackie mode in Midi Sync- the bcf appears as usb2 in both input and output- then I have control over live with the bcf. however if i run bcf view- it makes the "input usb2" go orange and control with bcf is not possible, however I can read the bcf view giving me all my channels in live with pan figures. So basically I can either not have bcf view and control; live with the bcf, or i can have bcf view and not control live with the bcf!!!!!! Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling live view but still no good Im using live 6 xp sp2

They are not part of the Mackie/Cubase emulation, they just send midi notes, so you can assign them to anything you want. Tap/click/follow are my suggestions, if you want those you need to midi learn them in the usual way (Ctrl-M).

theoretically you can build something like this from scratch exactly as you want it

in practice, I just use the handy parts of the BCF emulation, and do the rest on the computer keyboard. (like record, hehe)
