Currently you can only assign Velocity to modulate cutoff directly -- which is sort of a primitive setup, really.
The more 'typical' (and certainly more flexible + dynamic) approach is to modulate filter cutoff with an envelope, and then scale that envelope depth via velocity.
Many, many synths have this design -- yet Wavetable doesn't offer it.
I think it really should.

I agree that we should be able to modulate the scale of individual envelopes.
There's a workaround, it takes some extra work but it does give you more options to fine-tune.
Assign an envelope to the filter, then map all envelope parameters to velocity.
