[Question] DI Guitar Monitoring with Guitar FX VST

Post by RZ the Escapist » Sun Sep 24, 2017 4:37 pm

Equipment:
-Ableton Live 9
-Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
-Bias FX Standard (Guitar effects plugin)

I would like to be able to monitor ONLY the effected guitar sound when recording. Currently, I hear the clean DI guitar signal AND the effected Bias FX guitar signal.
I would like to get the full feel of the effected signal without the annoyance of the clean DI.

For the 2i2 interface, I have the direct monitoring switch one; if that makes any difference. I have some screenshots below of my guitar track as well as my audio preferences.

Thank you in advance!

turn direct monitoring off. DM means that it will give you the direct signal of live input on the audio interface with DSP processing from the computer.

Thank you! This seems to have solved it. Talk about a dummy moment on my end...

I thought that the latency would be bad without the direct monitor engaged, but it was not noticeably worse than with the DM on.
