WTF?
Emissary, you been smoking that crack again dude, I told you about that b4!
seriously though, what the hell are you on about, are you saying you 'downloaded' a copy of live from 'somewhere', now you've bought it and want to know if you have to uninstall the 'other' version before installing the new boxed copy??

oh that goddam flow chart didnt come out right at all
basically if i dont get this fixed then my previous uninstalled version of live 4 will be defunct within the next 3 and a half months. The optimum reinstall time for these things is three weeks isnt it? but by buying a version that has total redundancy i am not getting my moneys worth. Buy connecting to ableton.com and downloading presinstalled live i can hopefully rearrange my hardrive so it works at optimum speed.

no no no peeddrroo, you can not play this game with emissary, you know as well as I know that the answer is yes. Stop putting confusion in that thread, it is complicated enough. We are all much concentrated. So, please !peeddrroo wrote:come on, don't be like that amo, you now that the answer is no... why do you tell him that it's yes?amo wrote:Ah ! that was it ? so the answer is yes ! hope that makes your day !

ok guys i think i know what he's talking about:
he would like Live to overwrite previous versions of Live when installing it.
currently, when you install Live, it only adds a new application folder and doesnt overwrite the older version of Live (if you had an older version installed).
so he's just saying that he doesnt like uninstalling the old version, then installing the new version manually. he wants Live to overwrite the older versions just like any other software company update.
my opinion on this is that Live should over the old version if it's like 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc. the only time it should create a new application folder is when we make the major upgrades like version 5 to version 6.
