You are marvelous!
Little question: When loading the demo song, track 7 Midi hold a scale Live plug. When I look at the preset, it says "TKLBXgimmee a C" - that can't be part of the CovOps bundle?

Edit: That might be just the last preset I had active - your preset is just saved with the set and has no specific, saved name - right?

Edit 2: The "2CovOps_Bass_Distortion model 2.als" have gotten the track monitor left at "On", no sound until you switch that to Auto for me (but what a great sound!).

Edit 3: OK, I see now, most demo sets is for external midi in, I switch to keayboard.

re: midi scale preset. that must have been your last active.
that preset has been given no name.

re: midi monitor left to on.
many of these .als are designed that way so that the user can demo them easily with either a midi keyboard, or their computer keyboard for midi keys.

Yea, I get it now. (Hoped to be able to nagg at some flaw, but its hard to find one 8O )

Right now I am bewildered over the DEMO_VELOCITY set.
I had no idea that midi could be routed in this way: The midi from track 1 gets envelope automatation from track 2 and gets back to 1 when modified - amazing. I have to take a deep breath.

We ought to have some ceremony.
Let's make them the Knights of the Operator.

Don't bother. Otherwise you will need to start addressing us as "sir".

Yeah, that velocity demo is just a little sneak preview.
Of what I'm not sure yet, but there are sure some very awesome things that can be done with velocity.
Ideal (for me) would be having a midi track and clip for every parameter.
All sending to one operator :)

You will get a kick out of this next one Conny.
Try modulating the operator by sending note messages from a clip in Live to Bidule. Convert those note's to CC with the note velocity bidule and parameter modulator. Send them back to Live and learn them to the various parameters you like.
(hint: add a velocity plugin to the track that sends the note's)
(bigger hint: scale your chords  )

Now, where are my coconuts?

Hi,
Once again a great set of patches--all very musical. Quick question though: I've copied all the .adv patches to the user preset folder on my PC but I'm not sure how to set up the other files in the Zip. I assume I create a folder for the .als files and put them in a content folder within the Ableton program file on my PC. But there also seems to be lesson files and various images for use in illustrating lessons (?) but I'm not sure how these should be organised on my PC. Thanks for any illumination. -rolly

Rolly, hi

the Demo, Lessons, and Instrument + FX folders can all be placed anywhere you like on your pc. It would be probably best to copy them to the same folder that houses your own personal live set .als's, as they are all .als's as well.

Have we figured out who these guys are yet? Are we assuming they're Albetonians?

Regardless, though, these are very cool patches.

Here's a template to add more fun.
The first midi track sends note's to 8 operators. Those 8 tracks have a scale that filters out note's, so that you can trigger 8 different sounds with 8 different note's.

This is useful for beats and other fixed frequency's. Try playing with the velocity and random plugin on track 1

It's also a great template to try out the patches we made.
