Beta version of upcoming bug fix update available!

Post by Alex » Tue Feb 22, 2005 3:54 pm

Hi folks,

We have just uploaded a beta version of the upcoming Live bug fix update.
The final version will be released in the next few days.
Everybody Live 4 user is welcome to pre-check this beta.

We decided to make this "some kind" of public beta, but with very reduced
support from our side. That means, please send your Live 4.1.1 beta feedback
ONLY to beta@ableton.com.

Please do not post feedback in the forum or send to our support.
Please do not send general Live questions or feature wishes.

Mac OS X: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... e411b1.sit
Mac Os 9: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... e411b1.hqx

Windows: http://www.ableton.com/_common/download ... e411b1.zip

Current version: Live 4.1.1b1

Limitations:
- a Live 4 serial is needed to unlock
- will run only until 24h February
- does not contain Manuals
- does not contain Starter Sets
- The Windows version does contain some additional debug code to create crash logs.
Therefore the version is about 10% to 20% slower as the final release version.

thanks and regards,
Alex

===============================================================================
The list of bug fixes and improvements from Live 4.1 to Live 4.1.1b1:
===============================================================================
===============================================================================

==============================================================================
[01] Bug: Keys and mouse clicks on OS X

Platform: OS X

There was a noticeable delay when using computer keys or clicking with
the mouse on OS X. This bug was responsible for some other strange behavior
such as inaccuracies in Tap-Tempo.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[02] Bug: Crash for special keys on a japanese system

Platform: All

Live would crash when typing certain characters (such as German
umlauts) on a Japanese system.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[03] Bug: Crash with VST side chain Plug-ins

Platform: All

Live would crash when trying to use a VST plug-in with a side chain (for instance
Voxengo crunchessor).

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[04] Bug: Moving warped playing clips

Platform: All

This fixes the bug that a warped playing session clip, when moved to another
slot while it is playing, would playback at the wrong position.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[05] Bug: AutoFilter quantize

Platform: All

Depending on quantize and arranger loop settings AutoFilter's quantize
did not work right.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[06] Bug: Latency compensation field

Platform: All

There was an rounding problem with the latency compensation field in the
audio preferences.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[07] Bug: ReWire with Reason

Platform: All

Sometimes Live would send a MIDI event with a wrong time stamp to
Propellerhead's Reason.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[08] Bug: Operator parameter modulation

Platform: All

There was a problem with some MIDI controlled parameters producing
non rounded values. This is fixed so that it is now possible to MIDI control
these parameters correctly.

Due to this fix, some Operator envelopes from Live 4.1 may not
be transferred correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Here is the list of parameters we had to change:

-envelope repeat time
-envelope time velocity scale
-pitch env attack level
-pitch env decay level
-pitch env sustain level
-osc coarse
-osc fine
-fixed frequency multiplicator
-osc phase
-osc velocity scale
-osc key scale
-osc d feedback
-envelope time
-envelope key time scale
-filter frequency velocity scale
-filter frequency key scale
-filter frequency envelope amount
-panorama key scale
-panorama random scale
-spread
-transpose
-pitch bend range

==============================================================================
[09] Bug: Startup Crash on OS X 10.4

Platform: OS X 10.4

Live 4.1 would crash when starting on Mac OS X 10.4.

Status: Fixed

==============================================================================
[10] Improvements: Operator hide

Platform: All

It is now possible to hide Operator. You can do this in the Products section
of Live's preferences. If hidden, Operator is not visible in the instrument
browser and the Operator Lessons are not accessible via the Help menu.
Furthermore, if you load a song containing Operator while it is hidden,
you can load the song but the contained Operator will be disabled.

==============================================================================
[11] Improvement: Edirol Orchestra plug-in

Platform: All

Better support for the Edirol Orchestra plug-in.

==============================================================================
[12] Improvements: Lesson view screen resolution

Platform: All

We removed the screen resolution restrictions for the Lesson view.
Therefore the Lesson view should be visible on all screen resolutions.

copy of the other thread ...
[04] Bug: Moving warped playing clips

ok ableton 10 / 10 !

everything's ok ! even with the large sets !!! no probs of stopping or jumping

and no drops with the dell inspiron with the esi quata fire !

just to explain

the first tests were made on the internet PC with a poor integrated audio card (meaning on the motherboard) ... so not a pro audio card so drops ..

didnt have time to test on the studio PC (with the RME but if it is ok with the Dell it will be ok there too ! )
thanks again for correcting this !!!
