when they already bought Logic and have Garage Band?

I think you shouldn't go into the business world.

I think the only reason they'd buy it is to shut it down.

My sources relay that they will be acquired by the Nissan Musical Instrument division.

They're already a majority shareholder, I don't think they'd be able to have much more control without getting into a conflict of interest situation.

Thinking about the Big 3..Roland got Sonar, Yamaha got Cubase, Korg..hmm :D based on their current live oriented product development, seems like there are some sync points. Some of their products are also teamed up with Ableton already.

Umm, it's on the internet in a thread about Apple buying Ableton. I don't think you can get much more proof than that!

If a bigger company gotta buy Ableton, it should be Akai as they provide some of the best controllers dedicated to Live :)

But that's not gonna happen

It'll be very bad news.
I tend to not use Apple softwares (other than those bundled in MacOS) because you never know what their future is. Apple can stop dev with no explanation (look at the XServe), especially with pro softwares.
