Yeah, you need to use midi yoke (or something like it)
I cannot explain all technicality's, but it seems to be harder to develop virtual midi for windows then for osx.

When you start up bidule in osx. It creates it's own midi i/o

You can buy it now at 65 and that will allow you to use bidule as it is now.
They will release a more advanced version in the future. but you are not obliged to buy that upgrade. And you still get costumer support for the "lite" version.
So if you're happy with bidule now and the price seems good. Buy it if you can.
There's no need for getting worried of future releases because i still haven't discovered the full potential of 0.7 yet. And from what i understand, the other version will be more about audio processing.
I'm happy with the way it handles midi.

Cheers

Forgot to add that there is no need for rewire to do this.
On osx you can use rewire for midi though. But i'm not sure how it works on windows.

sure ! that was just to say i read something about a "lite" and a "full" version with different prices, but it's obvious that the possibilities of the lite version are almost endless !!!

thanks again for the tip 8)

How do you get bidule Generated sequences quantised in a L4 Clip. Is it a simple mater of starting Live first setting bidule to tempo and click start at the start of a bar?

Yeah, it would have taken you less time to do it. Then to type it
The beauty of bidule is that you can mix various tempo's synced or not synced. And record them on any track you want.
Try the midi delay. Good for making a 32 step sequencer out of two 16 step sequencers :)

can it make an arpeggiator like a Juno 60?

if so I haven't worked it out yet, and got sleepy doing it. Numerology seems much easier to use for some of this stuff.

Thanks Hoffman. This tutorial made me decide to get familiar with Plogue. WOW!!! With this and ableton it is now possible to achieve many of the ideas I have been imagining.

Looking forward to the next tutorial. Until then I will be going through the Bidule site and documentation.

Ive been experimenting with this on PC and wanted to point out some things. I tried a couple different 'virtual midi cables. Midi Yoke and LoopBe. I found Midi Yoke was causeing DSP spikes resulting in hangs. LoopBe on the other hand ran rather smooth.

However the best scenerio I found was using my actual hardware midi interface 'Midiman USB Midisport 4x4' I just ran a cable from out to in. Seemed to be the most pc efficient as I am trying to set up lfo's for multiple CCs.

ok, i've tried to route midi from bidule to Live via the rewire bidule : impossible !!!
so i must use midiyoke ? and not run bidule as a rewire slave ?

thanx
Skip rewire if possible, it's limiting your options.
Try the VST bridge that Plogue has made downloadable, you may choose between VST or VSTi when inserting it into Live. But since Live don't take midi back from a plug, you may need Yoke anyway. Ands thats OK because you can have different Yoke's in Bidule to separate outs and receive them individually in Live on different tracks.

Edit: I did not realize I was answering a post down on page one...
