That device looks just stupid
I am still waiting for a decent hapticcomputing interface.
A few years back I saw a bit of research which was basically a box with a stick coming out of the top - the idea was to move the stick about in the box, like stiring a cup of coffee
The key thing was: by altering settings you could make the box feel like it was full of ice, or gravel, or jelly, or make it seem like there was a mountainous terrain on the bottom of the box.
I hope you can see the potential for controlling virtual instruments with a full development of this technology.

sHt lads, its not so far off until we use something like that.
if you can type as fast as you talk (and i can - symptom of pc day job) then a device like that might be the labor saving gadget you need.
next thing is electrodes you stick to your head - thought controls your machine.
haha. imagine the sloppy sh8t you'd be doing after a load of grog and a satchel full o bud.

From time to time I come back to thinking about the old organ foot pedals. Really. Nowdays, they could have sliders, buttons, programmable.
Switching everything with a toe. OK, there are foot controllers, like these for guitar playing. But real bass pedals!

data-gloves
The price is ridiculous. I just saw Ross Bencina (the man behind audio-mulch) two days ago doing a concert here in Barcelona. He was using a data-glove as well, but a different one, one that you get for less than 20 $ as a gadget for gamers. Me and my flatmate ordered two of them, as soon as we get them and I have tested it out I will write a post about it for this forum.
