Post by Tweaking Knobs » Wed Mar 16, 2011 10:23 pm

Hi guys , i am thinking in buying some small monitors... I already have a pair of Event TR8XL.. they sound great.. but , the neighbourghs dont think the same way...

this is the reason i cant really do music lately , so i though of buying some small monitors , ones that have a flat sound but dont really bother the neighbourghs...

i have thought about some krk's , maybe the : KRK RP5 ROKIT G2

Take the Genelecs, much better than the KRK's in my opinion...
Mac Studio M2 Max and MacBook Pro M1

Genelec M030; Live 11.3.x and Live 12; macOS Sonoma

UAD Apollo Twin

Ableton Push 2

I switched from KRKs to Genelecs to Acoustic Energy. The price goes up, but I am very happy with my selections. I use Genelecs in one studio and Acoustic Energy in my own studio. The KRKs are ok enough, but they are quite bass heavy and not close to as crisp as the Genelecs or AE's - however, the Genelecs are a bit straining to work on if you work long hours on them, and they do make more sense on acoustic music (in my opinion) than on stuff like house/techno etc.

Why don't you just cut the bass a little on the ones you have, and put them on some sound pads - it's a lot cheaper, and you get to work on monitors you already know.
