Thanks man!
I'd check it right away.
Should I be deleating every rewire on that folder ???
I think I'll be using Cubase with my live4.
I might keep whatever with the word "cubase".
or I might just deleate the whole thing and start once again.
thx +1
really appriciate it.
Yes I know that permission sucks, and there is more to be said than
just permissions. But in my situation, anything is better than nothing.
I love windows, too, by the way.
cheers

A couple of things to read
Anytime
By the way..
If you want to do proper install you should read the following:
1. Make sure your hard drive is in good shape: Boot from the OS X Install CD and run Disk Utility's Repair Disk function (or use a third-party drive utility such as DiskWarrior or TechTool Pro).
2. When booted from the volume containing Mac OS X, run Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions function.
3. Run software update from the system prefs pane, BUT! DO NOT CLICK ON UPDATE BUTTON! Instead go to the UPDATE MENU next to FILE and pick UPDATE AND KEEP PACKAGE. This way if any updates are screwed up or crashes, you can reapply the update because it is downloaded first to your Library> Packages Folder. Especially security updates sometimes seems to crash, rarely but it does. However if it does crash and you go to software update again, it shows that it was already applied, eventhough it was only installed halfway. By choosing update and keep package you can always Re-Force the update in full and have it work correctly and stabily.
4. After rebooting, again run Repair Disk Permissions.
These progs sounds interesting:
Slipy is a utility used to create a Mac OS X install DVD disk images from your existing Mac OS X 10.3 install or upgrade CD set, Mac OS X 10.3 Server install CD set or Mac OS X 10.3 install DVD. In addition, Slipy can create automated installs and will allow you to "slipstream" or add additional software installations to your install DVD. Once created, simply use Disk Utility to burn your custom image to DVD.:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24178
AppleJack is a tool to make it easy to troubleshoot your Mac when no other startup disk is available to you. The script gives you an interactive menu-driven environment for basic disk check/repair, permissions repair, .plist validation, cache cleanup, and swap file removal. You can do basic system maintenance even if your GUI won't start up at all, simply by booting into single user mode, and typing 'applejack'.
This new version includes a workaround to get diskutil to work under Panther (which means you can perform permissions repair again), preference file validation, and much more:

Great !
I'm glad it helped.
It's really nice to know.
One more tip.
You can use the disc utility on your disc one,
and disable the "journaling" on the menu for your HDD.
Journaling makes a copy of your on-going data simultaneously,
which is helpful when your osx craches.
But this means your data is written twice as much(i dunno the numbers) . So if you want the hard disk data to flow real smooth,
such as large audio data,
you should let this "journaling" function become off.
I'll include this on my post.
thx reminding me.
cheers

Sniffio,
I am not sure for the journaling, I use it with linux from several years, but i go to test it!
One good thing is disabling with diablotin and root access--> some shit like:
apache
appleshare
NFS
LDAP
Postfix
Networktime
//
The font ( just have helvetica, times)
//
the preloaded progs
ppp
pppoe
etc..
//
I go to prepare one little howto and also one minimal image from my personal install ( with the update but without any prog dont come with apple.....
just diablotin// monolingual// and desktop manager
see you

I had to go back to OS10.3.6 from 10.3.7.
My fans wouldn't stop spining in 10.3.7.
Everything is back to STABILITY in 10.3.6
with better track pad movements.
I also updated the "FIX".
Only minor things though.
This time, I downloaded all the latest updates and applications before the erase&install of the OSX. (Updates include the OS10.3.6, too)
I saved all the applications dmg files into my external HDD.
After all the installing was done, then I opened my dmgs and installed all the updates and the application to my powerbook's HDD.
Working sweet so far.
Have to mention that I did not download the isight & ipod updater this time.

>>+1, how is your status at the moment ?
Has audio glitch improven ?
>>by-pass, have you ever heard the application called "Bootconfig".
You can disable many boot-related programs with this.
But you must be extremely careful, such as never disabling the "login window" and stuff. You can destroy your computer with this.
I had disabled many things like you posted, but it only saved me few power. After I disabled those "small" programs, i dunno why but live4's input gave a inourmus noise which went way over the peak limit.
Ever since that happened, I decided not to mess with those boot-related-programs.
well, anyways.
Happy new year.
Wishing you the luck.
