MP3 export
MP3 export, please. Not fun having to bounce a wav and then convert with another program. Thanks!

Re: MP3 export
dumb question: will that make it more expensive if Ableton needs to buy the technology license and then pass the cost on to us? If so, I'd rather just convert to mp3 with my own tools. I may be way off though.

Re: MP3 export
it's be nice to have, but I don't mind exporting to wav and then using Audacity and LAME
I don't 'produce.' I write music.

Re: MP3 export
Most DAWs allow an export/render as mp3. It's a very common format. I'm working on a lot of songs right now that have to be delivered to my client via ftp or email and I'm using one program to bounce and one program to convert. Ableton is a professional DAW and I'm surprised there's not more support for this...
Re: MP3 export
I agree--mp3 export seems like a very easy and very helpful addition to the Export feature.

Re: MP3 export
-1 I think, not enough function "record CD", mp3 - evil
Re: MP3 export
why would it be expensive when free audio editors, players, DAWS, use LAME to add export to mp3 functionality to their software.estevan carlos benson wrote:dumb question: will that make it more expensive if Ableton needs to buy the technology license and then pass the cost on to us? Re: MP3 export
Its interesting that Ableton have gone to the trouble to support mp3 files for use in mixing and playback, yet you cant export your mix as an mp3. Surely it wouldnt take that muc. Just dont do what Digidesign does and may you pay an extra odd $30 for the "MP3 option". Tightassess, this should be standard...

Re: MP3 export
it's not like it will affect performance. if Wavesaur and Audacity can have mp3 support, why can't Live??mattverzola wrote:I don't understand why anyone would not want this.

Re: MP3 export
i would prefer to add some commandline of choice "after export". then i could set up a custom mp3 generator with mixedinkey, platinum notes, some tagging engine, etc the way i want. including a soundcloud-auto-upload and other stuff.
would be more flexible

Re: MP3 export
I'd love to export mp3s!
It's useful when you need just a small clip to email someone and to export mix sets to be listen in your mp3 player...
