MAJOR ISSUE WITH TRACKS OUT OF SYNC

Post by dpel » Mon Nov 01, 2004 1:45 am

what the HELL!

on 4.0.4 sessions i'm unable to have audio tracks playback correctly. all of a sudden they are out of sync.
the warp info is not being read correctly. the markers are not positioned where i placed them.
also,
i had a very large session created with 4.0.4
and i consolodated some tracks with multiple clips
assembled next to each other. i did this because i wanted to send
the track into RAM to lighten up the CPU load.

now when i open the session a day later the timing is all off
on the newly consolodated tracks.
but this also happened with sessions that i did not consolodate.

why is the warp info not being read correctly all of a sudden.
is this related to SP2? or booting into LIVE from USER CONFIG?

PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!

well well well

if i hide the vst folder (start live without VSTs)
the warp markers playback correctly.

...more to come...

ok,
so this VST Folder related.
my VST folder was in a LIVE 3.0.2 folder. (this never gave me an issue with 4.0.1 / 4.0.2 or 4.0.3)

relating to the forementioned issue in the previous posts:
if i remove the VST folder (to the desktop) the problem is
not present. track plays back fine
if i then quit LIVE and replace the folder back to the 4.0.4 folder
start Live--> open the one of the sessions in question AND THEN
relocate the VST folder in the Prefs the track plays back and my Plugs are present.

WHAT THE HELL??? why all of a sudden? what did i do to trigger this?
HAPPY HALOWEEN!!!

now this issue is constant with
most files created in an earlier version and then opened
with 404.
i have to move the VST folder out to the desktop, open the file
play it back to ensure proper playback, then i can move the vst
folder back and re-scan. then save.

what's going on here?

another abservation to note:

opening a file that i have been testing, even after going through the vst folder removal procedure (as stated in the previous posts) i came across an overdub of newly recorded track that was playing back at half the tempo. i notice that both warp and loop buttons were engaged. after i
disengaged them the audio played back properly. again, this is regardless of moving the VST folder.

more notes:

i can now remedy this situation by closing the file without saving
and then re-opening the file to have it playback properly.

...still testing, still aggrivated.

I have the same issue.
Did you find a solution ?

I have huge projects and sometimes a lot of tracks are completely screwed up.

Very interesting indeed. I wan't to use Ableton for drumloops, and I would prefer to be able to completely get rid of my 8-track reel-to-reel at the same time, and I have problems that sound very much like this.
