Fifth Beta of upcoming bugfix update: Live 8.1.2b5!

Post by Dennis DeSantis » Fri Feb 19, 2010 4:24 pm

Hi folks,

we just released another beta version of an upcoming bugfix update, Live 8.1.2b5

Version: 8.1.2b5
Expire date: 2010/03/02

Download links:

Meanwhile, a more recent beta is available:
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=137733

You might wonder how this update relates to the bug-fixing phase that has been announced recently http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=132761.
The upcoming 8.1.2 update addresses some issues but is not yet the result of our special bug-fixing efforts.
We cannot yet tell when those will be released but we'll keep you informed.

Kind Regards
/Alex

I am always confused with the American vs European date formats maybe you should write "3 March 2010" so as to be unambiguous. Cheers.

So you thought the beta just released today expired 18 days ago? :)

 So is it matter of 'Logic'? But... isn't Logic the competition of Live? Damn I'm so confused now!

Can I get a link to the change log?

I am hoping that this update will address all of the rewire-related crashes I seem to be getting in my no-rewire setup.

the previous beta 8.1.2b4 tells me that there are no new betas. it's lying, apparently...

This works for me much better than 8.1.1.

I just wish I knew what the deal was with the rewire\DLL so I could workaround it...

I have been using Live 8.0.8 for many months now and am very reluctant to upgrade to a more recent version. With all of the bugs reported in 8.1 and up, why upgrade and deal with all of the frustration??? Until I see lots of posts that say this version 8.xxx is "GREAT" and a "BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER 8.0.8" I will be very happy to stay here in my older, outdated, BUT PERFECTLY WORKING, version 8.0.8, thank you very much!!!

Every open of any existing Live set crashed the application.
After kicking away the prefs file it seemed to work properly until deletion of newly recorded single Clip from session view; this crashed Live again.

I've switched the ASIO driver of my Edirol M-16DX to the Vista x64 version (instead of the Win7 version, altough I'm using Win7x64). This seems to have brought back a lot of stability to Live.

just my 2ct.

Deleting an UAD plug-in from the master channel crashes Live (had this twice now), answering yes to "recover set" crashes Live again.
Last and this beta have been the crashiest 8 versions for me including the pre-release public betas!

I know Ableton's aware & on it so we plough on. :D
