cant export midi files created in arrangeview

Post by mickeybabaji » Thu Sep 16, 2004 6:43 pm

i cccant export midi files not created in the clip view

i have done like this

started in clips window, created at midi clip and recorded the midi clip so it was visible in arrange view and work on it copied it an and edited it into different midi clips. the problem occurs when i wished to use the midi clips in a different live session. --> when i use the export selected midi clip no dialog opens, as its does when i do this in clip view, with un-alterned midi file created in this view.

what is the problem? am i doing something wrong

Hi,

I was wondering if you ever found a work around for this?

I only have a laptop with me, (no MIDI controller) and so I
try to play around recording automation, but this can only
be done in the Arrange view. Session view does not allow
CC data recording, only evelope drawing.

Is there a way to export the stuff I do in arrange to a session
clip?

Cheers,
Andy

Hi mickeybabaji,

in the arranger, there is no "Export MIDI clip" entry in the context menu of a MIDI clip but the global menu command is working there too.
However, with the next beta "Export MIDI clip" will be available via context menu also in the arranger.

regards,
/Alex

After looking throguh the archives, I found a
decent work around, at least, for exporting automation
data, and that is "copy envelope data" or something
like that from a context menu, when clicking on a
clip in the arrange track.

Just copy the automation data, and paste
it into the Session clip view and you are rolling.

Cheers,
Andy
