just asked a bb developer friend of mine on msn:

(3:02:11 PM): as long as they're very simple they do
(3:02:23 PM): but html emails are the devils work and should be banned
(3:02:59 PM): anything complex and nothing lines up correctly leading to a sorry mess
(3:03:16 PM): but basic colour changes work and if they stick to a simple vertical layout they should be fine

You need HH software version 4.5 (if BIS), if you are a BES user, the BES needs to be a v4.1 SP5.
