Drum Rack - Loop in time?

Post by wildcon » Sat Aug 22, 2009 1:01 pm

Hi,

Is it possible to loop a wav in drum racks (simpler) and get it
to loop in time with the tempo?

I can't seem to work out an easy way to do this.

Thanks

Not in a single Cell, but can be done using slice to new midi track. It will produce one cell per transient (@10 - 16 slices for a 1 bar loop)
Select the audio clip containing the drum loop and choose 'slice to new midi track'.

if you turn on loop and sync/snap mode and adjust the endpoints right it will be in time.

try it. it works

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback :)

The only thing with the slice to midi is that I'm using the Korg PadKontrol
to trigger the samples so need to keep it within simpler (I guess?)

I've tried the snap and loop and got the timing close but if I change tempo
this will then be out.

I guess timestretching is what I'm looking for?

Cheers

just use clips and assign midi notes to each one to launch them

they will be warped and will change with the tempo
