Absolute values for tempo automation

Post by Remco Halderhooter » Wed Aug 25, 2004 12:35 am

I'm doing a mix compilation and I want the tempo to increase from 100 bpm to 125 over one bar. When I drag the tempo automation points around it's difficult to get them bang on. I know I can expand the master track vertically but it would be nice to click on the points and type a number. Any ideas? I'm on version 2.1.2.

cheers, RH

I think you can hold a modifier now to change to 'fine' automation. ctrl on windows, command on mac

I think it is time I joined the party. I've had enough of standing in the cold with my nose squashed against the window.

unfold the master track in the arrangement view and change the minimun tempo to 100 and the maximum to 125. the very top and bottom of your automation display will be set to those values.

keep in mind that this will affect any other tempo automations that you have set, but if this is your only one, you'll be fine.

1) Click at the start time where you want to automate.

2) Type the tempo you want into the tempo box.

3) Click record, then play, then stop.

4) Click at the end time of your transition.

5) Type the end tempo into the tempo box.

6) Click record, then play, then stop.

7) Go into the song tempo automation and delete all of the points excepty for the first and last.

Done.
