Xbox controllers

Post by MrShine » Wed Jul 08, 2009 7:07 am

Just throwing this out there before i go on a google hunt...

Has anyone used any Xbox360 controllers in Live at all? I have a Guitar Hero drumkit and guitar and was curious to know if these can be hooked up to Live in any way?

The drummer in our band recorded MIDI from his Rock Band drum kit. Worked pretty damn well. Not sure exactly how he did it, but a quick googling led me to this: http://benjefferies.com/2008/03/18/usin ... ontroller/

I have the guitar working to a certain extent...at least 3 of the buttons on the next work in Ableton...I'm having issues with getting the other buttons recognized within Edrummer

Will post some results later or tomorrow when i get more time on it ;)

so funny! my kid was dragging my rock band guitar around the other day and I was just thinking, how cool would it be if I could actually USE that thing for some real control in Live, or to actually play something in Live. Gimmicky sure...but FUN!! And people would LOVE that s**t!
can't wait to see what you find out. I'm not super techy, but if I want it bad enough I can figure it out with some help

hehe it's proving a little difficult atm, but yeah jumping around laying down some sounds for a live session with a guitar on the web cam would be kinda cool ;)

Right got it mapped now..it is fun although you're obviously limited to 5 buttons atm...i can't get the strum bar or wanger to register....might take a little more time.

You guys tried using 'Xpadder'? You can map anything the pad does to a QWERTY key, and a few other tasty options. Might be worth a look... (Windows)
