Live performance based on sample recorded on site

Post by PLacidBasilisk » Tue Jun 23, 2009 1:44 am

Does anyone know of any artists out there who do something along these lines? The idea would be to record a small fragment of something in front of you audience and build an entire piece out of it in real time using whatever you see fit. I'm sure it's been done before, would love to see some examples of it done well.

We start with absolutely nothing...no canned samples,...We play instruments live, then loop them, mangle them resample wthem. EVERYTHING on our website was recorded live....no conversations prior about tempo, keys etc. Its all about very concerted LISTENING and REACTING.

It's very rough, but we do build a mix by sampling everything on the spot, including audience members.
