wishlist

My interests are generally in improvising with hardware controllers in the track view. A selection from my wishlist:

Midi Import
Ability to import tempo maps from midi files.

Clip Behavior
Midi clips should be able to have warp markers, as in audio clips.

You should be able to save presets for clips, and be able to recall them just as in presets for the effects. This would include both clip settings and automation.

Automation
Automation in clips (midi and audio) should be "lockable", so that you can choose between the current behavior (which is that when you change the value under "Orig. BPM," automation does not change in relation to the time grid) and a mode where the automation does change with the audio or midi playback speed.

You should be able to import monophonic midi file note information as pitch and volume automation for audio or midi clips (i.e. pitches map to pitch, and duration of midi notes becomes a gate on the volume). Also, you would be able to record via midi, with midi notes similarly mapping to pitch, and note on/offs mapping to volume.

It should be easier to reassign a given automation envelope to a different parameter. Instead of select all, cut, find the new parameter and paste, you should be able to just type in new assignment.

Generally, include more options to manipulate automation (reverse, expand/contract, smooth, curves, etc.)

It should be possible to put automation clips on the (currently useless) slots under the Return Tracks. These clips would automatically route to parameters of the fx.

Midi
It should be possible to route midi internally to any parameter (even parameters without midi remote assignments...possible destinations should appear in a menu)

Remote Control
Midi and Keyboard remote control assignments should be draggable.

You should be able to have any number of midi assignments for remote control (ie multiple midi controllers controlling a single parameter. It would be nice if these were able to have different minimum and maximum values).

You should be able to assign ranges for midi cc's for remote control, and the program should automatically scale them. For example, for tempo, you should be able to specify with a controller the entire range of 20-999 (since you have only 128 values, changing by one value would skip a lot of numbers) or, say, 120-123 BPM, with each change in value of the controller causing a fine tuning of the BPM. [actually, this is possible for BPM right now. Every other control should have a similar mechanism]

There should be many more possible key assignments, using different combinations of control keys and letters/numbers.

You should be able to save multiple sets of key and midi assignments and swap them out very quickly.

Effects should not lose their remote control settings when dragged around in a track signal chain (reordered).

Audio Instruments
You should be able to have multiple audio instruments on a midi channel, with the ability to turn them on and off. Only one instrument could be active at a time.

Interface
Add option for disabled plugins to take less space (no more space than it takes to write the name. This would be good for particularly wide Live effects like reverb, resonators, etc, EQ4, etc.)

Thanks.
