Setting up a controller with Reason Rewired to Live4

Post by drez » Sun Aug 01, 2004 9:22 pm

Is there anyway to "learn" automation parameters via rewire? I'm trying to assign in Live my Filter Freq's knob on the Malstrom in Reason. What's the best way to do this?

it's either midi in live or reason,,, A work around is get the malstrom all set up make sure you hear sound and everything is working then in live go to options-preferences-midi/sync - and activate or de-activate one of your midi out devices ,,this will let reason input midi(works for me) you will also notice that there is no more midi input in live,,,now when you go to reason right click on the frequency knob -edit midi remote mapping check learn from midi imput then toggle your midi controller ,, it should work for ya ,,if not then you might have to change how you have things routed,,,,,, , the cost you pay for this is now you can't record midi only the audio from reason in live ,you can still record midi in reason,,,,, or you could of recorded midi in live prior to de-activating the midi, and then perform what I mentioned,,,,, the freq knob will have an effect on the midi in live ,,,,, hope this will solve your problem ,,it worked for me,,,,,

Much thanks for the explanation! I believe that will be my course of action.
