How was Live 1like?
Hi there!
I just asked myself how Live 1 was like, because I only know it since version 4. I found no screenshots on google, anyone has some? Or a page still dealing with version 1?
I think it would be an interesting think to compare to the upcoming 8th version!?

Ever push your fingers all the way in, then pull them out again and find awful smelling stuff under your fingernails?

Re: How was Live 1like?
I started on 2. It was much more stripped down. The browser had like 10 or 15 things in it, that was it.

Simple and focused, but not as easy to control and the sound engine was not as good. Ableton's time-stretch routines have improved a lot since then.

I thought it used zplane's élastique since the beginning?Rabid wrote:Simple and focused, but not as easy to control and the sound engine was not as good. Ableton's time-stretch routines have improved a lot since then.

No, Elastique is what is called "complex", and I think that arrived in version 5 (?)pulsoc wrote:I thought it used zplane's élastique since the beginning?Rabid wrote:Simple and focused, but not as easy to control and the sound engine was not as good. The 'beats' mode was created by one of the original Ableton chaps, way back when there were very few of them.

Live 1 was so completely different from the program (Logic) I'd been using till then, and it was able to do so many things that I always had wanted to do, like jamming, that I immediately fell in love with it. and bought it.
it really felt like a gift from heaven..
