[4830] Automation fine tuning does not work as expected

Post by jon_moore » Tue Feb 17, 2009 8:10 pm

The breakpoints in the Song Tempo Automation lane jump between increments. Each increment appears to be around .4 of a second.

Hi,

Are you talking about jumps in the timeline? When editing tempo automation, the real time timeline at the bottom adapts to the tempo. So, if you move a breakpoint up, the time will expand, and if you move it down, the time will compress.

Is it what you are describing? If so, that's totally normal, and same as in all versions of Live.

No.

In the Master lane you can choose to automate the set tempo. When adjusting the breakpoints on the automation envelope you are usually able to adjust to by 0.01 increments etc. in the 8.11 beta the envelope breakpoints jump by approx 0.5 bpm increments.

Hope this helps[/img]

This is a problem that not only affects the bpm automation, but virtually all automation lines that you want to "fine tune" (ctrl + drag). You can not increase/decrease a value by 0.1, the increments are always some different value, which is annoying :P

Thanks for verifying this, I'm sure it's on the fix list.

Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up. I can confirm something has changed, and reported it. And sorry for making the wrong assumption!

We improved that in the most recent beta, so please check how it behaves in Live 8.0b26.

this is looking good to me.. i'm not experiencing those problems anymore.

a side note: i'm still experiencing the same behaviour of older versions:
sometimes if you ctrl adjust, the point get shifted vertically a little bit.. licke sticking to an invisible grid.. not really a big deal, but something would be cool to address?

Hi,

I moved the thread as the original bug is fixed. Concerning the rest, we'll see what we can do, but we have much to look at right now!
