to be honest it could be any number of early 90's US 'indie' bands.

Archers of Loaf? Thinking fellers union? anyone on City Slang?

Thanks all. It was used as bumper music on a radio talk show, and I thought it was probably a more well-known tune. Thought someone here might recognize the riff. Must be a pretty obscure piece.
