What would you fix or add to live ?

Post by Tweaking Knobs » Fri Nov 14, 2008 12:14 pm

I would in order of priority:

- fix the 128 issue

- in the piano roll we dont need to be switching from the draw tool to the grab tool, mouses have 2 buttons (3 with the scrolling weel)

Its faster to paint and drag with one and delete witht the other. easy, faster.

- The ability to record automtion to live by moving the knobs directly in the vst plug ins interface.

- The piano roll should have colored parts to visually see where are the beats like flstudio does in the step seq( first beat is grey , second is brown)

- some times we have to double click in the channels to see what fx they have, it should always be only one click.

Basically just a lot of rip-offs from competing DAWs that we've been yearning for. Live is an innovative enough tool to get away with a little emulation.

All that's coming to mind now is 64 bits and surround.

Sorry, disagree, lots of mac owners just have 1 button, plus lots like to work with laptop trackpads - I don't even own a mouse! I really like the fact that most Live features *don't* need a second mouse button (ctrl-click on mac) - this irked me a little on the old version of Traktor...

i think you should be able to see what fx are on all the channels, like you can in cubase, logic etc.

Groove templates and tools to generate them from midi or audio.
In fact just rip off what Cubase does with this.

And finsih the job with external instruments and external fx - ie add assignable knobs for automating CCs.

Detachable interface (especially mixer, waveforms, and MIDI) x1000000000000000
Better groove options
Better MIDI/piano roll interface
ablity to loop samples in session view WITHOUT warp mode enabled
timestretch algorithm upgrade (complex mode could use a little attention)
3 and 4 band eq's designed specifically for djs

Add sharing of VSTs within a drum rack, so I can route say Kick and HH to one multi timberal and multi-out VST, snare, claps etc to another etc.
