The new Ableton Microsoft development, codenamed Ablesofttouch, will in fact actually replace the session view with MS Excel in an MSExcellent! *tm* new twist.
As well as mixing your beats, DJs can compile their expenses and revenue while dropping beats on the fly. A new 'merge excel data to live session clip' tool will exist, which will decode your financial accounts and create a whole new set of MIDI sequencer data which trigger your sets in a whole new exciting way using cc parameters...

This is all disinformation designed to throw us off the scent.
In fact they are busy combining Live and Reaper.
The new program will be called Ableton Dead.

I just really hope that we have the option to select which currency to render to, or if it will be hard coded in for each country. I feel bad for any Live users in Zimbabwe. Time to move to England.lola wrote:Has the newest feature already leaked??
The auto arrange and auto composition plugs are totally awesome.
And damn do i love the audio to money render option.

Ableton are going into partnership with Sony Acid Pro and the new program will be titled Ableson Barely Hanging On to Existence 8 (given that both Live and Acid are on v7 right now). It will feature acidized .wavs, cocained MIDI and 'crystal clear' crank audio engine.

Newest press release just arrived in my inbox:
To help curtail the vast amount of rumors and to cut down on the amount of waste caused by the number of press releases we release, we would like to simplify everything by announcing the companies we will not be partnering with in 2009:
Taco Bell
Buick
Home Depot
We apologize to those who will be upset by the lack of partnership between us and these 3 great companies, but we do not see any mutual benefits to be gained at this time.

I've seen it already... nothing to get excited about... it's almost the same as live7...
but with some new exotic features...
but the graphics are the same...
and it's missing 3 skins I loved (Tobacco,Snow and nightclub)
instead we got a 'hello kitty' and 'batman' themes.. which I personally dislike...
I was really hoping for a feature that could let you play your arrangement backwards...(through time)...maybe in live9
oh... and there's also a thermometer... which controls the club AC...sweet...
